Fantasy Flight Games
Nexus Ops Board Game
Digital

FFG released an updated version of the popular board game, Nexus Ops, and I was asked to redesign all the game pieces for this new release. I had to design five monsters and one space marine. It was a really great opportunity to give a game my own look and feel.

I am a little unsure what you are asking. I did attend college and I have a fine arts degree but I learned NOTHING of what I needed to no to be a working artist. I had to seek out the knowledge myself and work very hard to improve my own abilities. A lot of years of hard work and effort.

Ah i see. I was just asking if you took a course or if this is your degree. Like im trying to go to digipen institute of technology for a major in digital art and animation.
What's it take to be a working artist? Is it satisfying? I've always wondered.

This is something I have talked about a lot on my blog: www.christopherburdett.blogspot.com Especially in my year end wrap up post (can be found at the beginning of each January). You need to figure out what type of art you want to make. Find out who put out products containing that art. Look at the art being used by the company(s) and then improve your abilities to the point you are as good, if not better then the work they are using. It has its moments but it is really hard work and for a lot of the time for very little money. You have to be completely passionate about all this to want to get into it.

Ah i see. Well, i want to do character/creature designs as well as environments. And do 2d and 3d animation. Eventually, I want to own my own entertainment biz. That doesnt just do art, but video games, movies, and music.
